Maintaining your MODE e-bike

WARNING! IMPROPER MAINTENANCE CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO YOU OR OTHERS. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.

Procedures for maintaining the battery

After the battery is charged it can very slowly lose charge over the weeks that follow and should be topped up to optimise battery life. If the PowaCycle is unused for more than 3 months, recharge the battery to maintain performance capacity.

When charging the battery the charger will heat up and feel warm to touch. It should have free air surrounding it and not be wrapped in towels, cloths or other insulating materials which could prevent the heat from escaping.

With proper care, battery life-expectancy for Li-Ion will be in the region of 600-900 charge cycles. Battery longevity will be dependent on regular charging and the temperature at which is stored and operated in.

New replacement batteries can be ordered from Analog Motion.

Safety

  • Helmets must be worn at all times

  • Front and rear lights should be used after between sunset and sunrise

  • Brake pads/blocks but be regularly checked for excessive wear and proper alignment in both the blocks and cables. Brakes are consumables and will need to be replaced at intervals depending on bike use. The rider must check both the front and rear brakes before each ride to ensure they are operating satisfactorily.
  • Do not expose the battery to excessive shock, heat or extended periods of moisture.
  • Each MODE bike is shipped with a toolkit that will allow the user to loosen or tighten the seat, stem and brakes. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that all bolts tight and not able to cause harm to the user.
